Wedmore Village Hall
We are delighted to announce that we will be re-opening the Hall on 13th July having taken steps to make the Hall COVID-19 secure. We have conducted a Risk Assessment of the Hall and will require all users, including regular users, to conduct their own risk assessment of their event using the downloadable Word Template we have provided. We have also updated our Terms & Conditions of Hire to include an Appendix that relates specifically to COVID-19 which Hall users must-read.
At this stage, only certain types of usage are allowed by the government. The following list is indicative of what is allowed – and note that exercise classes of any sort are not yet allowed indoors, nor is any type of performance:
Activities held indoors where smaller numbers of people attend, e.g. seated activities and meetings held in the Main Hall such as art classes.
Small events providing catering, e.g. coffee mornings, or luncheon clubs, where seating may be out of doors and/or well-spaced.
Public meetings and public consultation events, e.g. planning. A one-way system can be created for exhibitions. For meetings, attendees can be asked to use the furthest seat from the entrance first unless hard of hearing and handouts provided at the end rather than at the beginning.
Other larger events including those with seated audiences, e.g. film show, bingo, quiz night. Attendees should be asked to use the furthest seats from the entrance first unless hard of hearing. A booking system must manage numbers and obtain contact details for NHS Track and Trace.
Wedding receptions and wakes – weddings and similar life cycle events are permitted where attended by up to 30 persons. Recorded music is recommended. A musician may play a non-wind instrument. Any receptions should be limited to this number to avoid mass gatherings.

Hi all. Hope you are all safe and well.
Finally back doing a bit now, one pond removed for one customer and one installed for another.
We are starting to make…..
To all our clients, thank you for your patience since being closed. We are hopefully only 4 weeks away now from opening and have started or will be starting to contact you all to make bookings. We please ask that you are still patient with us as we work through hundreds of phone calls….its is only Sharon and Becky doing this as all our staff are still furloughed until the 4th July. It will take us time to contact you all and we are trying to be fair in our process of what clients we are booking in the diaries and are working our way through missed appointments from 23rd March onwards……we will be keeping any appointments that are already in the diary from 4th July and trying to add everyone else who was on our priority booking list in between.
We also need to be mindful that with social distancing still in place we may not be able to bring our full team of stylists and therapists back all together on one day as there will not be the space to do this and in turn will not be able to fit the volume of work in like we used to do! (with the 50 page guideline book we also have to adhere too it is a challenge!!) We are however working hard to offer longer days/ working hours and extra days opening ie Sunday’s & Monday’s and are trying to work out the best way to still offer all our services you you.
We would thank you all for your understanding during this time, Sharon and Becky are trying their best and have just been through a very stressful period over the last 4 months and really do appreciate your support. We look forward to speaking to you all over the next couple of weeks.
Sharon & Becky
We hope you are safe and well and look forward to getting pampered with us very soon! Over the next coming weeks we will be in touch regarding our plans on our return. Please listen & read carefully, and keep your eyes peeled for future post & emails. If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to ask.
Firstly I want to thank you for being so patient, a number of clients have asked what our plans are for reopening and whether they can book an appointment. As you know from our last message we are hoping that the Beauty industry can open their doors from the 4th July which means we will start our normal working week from 9.30am Tuesday 7th July. This however is still very unclear and not set in stone by the government so instead of leaving it to the last minute our first plan of action is to open up a waiting list from Tuesday 9th June.
How will this work?
Firstly, our PRIORITY list…
This consists of every appointment we had in our diary from the date we closed the salon, to the date we reopen. Any appointments booked after 7th July will remain in the diary.
Secondly, our WAITING list…
If you are an existing Isle client but didn’t have a booking during or after lockdown you can book onto our waiting list on a first come first serve basis.
Last but definitely not least, our NEWBIES…
For all those who have so very kindly been recommended to us before or during lockdown will be added to our newbie list. This will be on a first come first serve basis.
We hope by the 23rd June we’ll be in contact with you again to take you off of our waiting list and pop you into our diary (fingers and toes crossed)!
We ask for your patience, we have a lot of clients to contact and may not have up to date details so please do not take offence if you are missed- it would not be done with intention! Any questions then please do not hesitate to ask.
We look forward to hearing from you..
Love The Isle x
Opening on Monday 15th June, protective screen up😄. Hopefully see you soon. 🤞🤞
