Wedmore Harvest Home
20th August 2010.
Harvest Homes started when farmers put on a meal with cider to thank the workers for bringing in the harvest.
Wedmore,'s event has now evolved into a full day of events, starting with a Church Service, followed by the Harvest Home procession, lead by the Harvest Home queen, with local organisations building and riding trailers drawn through the village by tractors.
There is a lunch, which does now allow ladies to attend, in the marquee on the playing fields ground, followed by children's sports events and then a tea.
The evening sees an evening of entertainment, often with a tribute band playing to a packed marquee.  Wedmore's HH traditionally takes place on the third Friday in August - next one 21st August 2009.
To apply to be King, Queen or Princess apply to Chestnut Farm, Mudley, Wdmore. BS28 4TZ.
To apply to join the procession, apply to Maxine Ingrouille-Kidd, Hunter's Gate, Manor Lane, Wedmore BS28 4EL.

SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association) -– Forces Help
Local volunteers held a collection in the Wedmore shopping area on 13th February representing our division covering this area in North Somerset.
SSAFA125- Forces Help provides support and help to those who serve in our Armed Forces and those who used to serve - even if it was only for a single day. We also care for the families of both.  Last year alone, professional staff and trained volunteers provided a reliable, caring and trusted service to more than 50,000 people.  SSAFA Forces Help helped to make a real difference to many lives.
In 2010, SSAFA125 - Forces Help will celebrate 125 years of continued service to Britain's Armed Forces.  See the SSAFA Forces Help web site at http://www.ssafa.org.uk/ for full details of who we are and what we do.
Thank you.  Rob Evans / Bob Hayter
