Oct 26 Dr Francis Burroughes: The Man who Rebuilt Wessex, The story of Benjamin
Ferrey, a nineteenth century architect now almost entirely forgotten but who
was responsible for building nearly four hundred churches, country houses,
town halls, hospitals, and other buildings in the West Country, and laying out
the town of Bournemouth’.
Nov 23 Helen Emmings: Helen will give an overview and reflections on working with
women facing adversity and disadvantage, to include her experiences over
15 years.
Members are free, and Visitors are £4 with free tea/coffee.

Jan 26 2023 Lois Brenchley and Mick Fletcher:
‘The Strawberry Line – Past, Present and Future’: the History of the Cheddar Valley Branch Line in archive photographs from 1867, through its heyday to closure and regeneration as a Recreation Route and Nature Reserve from 1983 to the present, showing attractive views and popular use of the route today, plus future plans to further extend.
Feb 23 Michael Malaghan: – ‘Amusing anecdotes from a varied career working with
diverse characters, from The Pink Panther to the Chuckle Brothers; and from
HBO film set of ‘Churchill at War’ to an unexpected role at The Daily Mail’
March 23 Judith Derbyshire from Purely Probate: Who decides when we can’t about
our health & welfare and our financial affairs? Dispelling the myths around
the powers of our ‘next of kin’. How to plan for our future, just in case. There
will be an opportunity for discussion and questions.
April 27 Anthony Lamb and Andy Andrews: a ‘Passivhaus’ refers to buildings
created to rigorous energy efficient design standards so that they maintain
an almost constant temperature. Anthony and Andy will give an overview of
how they built their house and what it is like to live in it throughout the year’.
May 25 6.30 pm Antonio Paladino from Bioaqua farm: ‘An overview of Aquaponics and how
this system can produce food in a sustainable way.’ A visit is proposed to view the farm.

Sept 28 Martin Robinson, Paramedic: ‘The history of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR): an overview of the practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation from the Ancient Greeks to the present day’.
