Charles Barnard Estate Agents moves from strength to strength under new management
A WEDMORE estate agent has undergone a structural change, with a new managing director, new staff and a new vision for the future signalling a shift towards growth and expansion (April 2024).
Charles Barnard Estate Agents now employs five members of staff and has increased its coverage to include property sales and lettings in the Burnham-on-Sea, Bridgwater, and Bath areas in addition to continuing its offering in and around Wedmore.
Speaking about the recent changes to the business, new Managing Director Luke Jackson said: “When the opportunity to take over Charles Barnard came up at the end of 2023, I jumped at the chance to take the business in a new direction and to continue its growth and development!
“Having worked for the business for five years, I got to know the community in Wedmore and the surrounding area well. That, coupled with my connections to Burnham, Bridgwater, and Bath positions me perfectly to expand the business to cover new areas while continuing to support the community in the village that gave Charles Barnard its start.
“My focus has always been exemplary customer service while taking customers through a process that can often be really stressful, and this is something I plan to continue delivering in my role as Managing Director.
“In addition to our work on property sales, lettings and auctions, we also partner with great conveyancers and mortgage brokers, so that our customers can be assured of a high quality complete service from start to finish.”
In addition to their residential sales and lettings, the team at Charles Barnard hope to expand their offering to include in-house mortgage services to better serve their clients. The business will also continue its support for local community initiatives and events.
Mr Jackson continued: “I’m really passionate about supporting the communities we’re working in, which is why we have supported a number of events in and around Wedmore already.
“Our support will extend to the sponsorship of Highburn Athletic FC in Burnham next season and we’re always looking for other initiatives to support, so would encourage anyone in the Wedmore, Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea and Bath areas to get in touch with us if they need support with local events or initiatives.”

Cheddar Vale Lions Club was founded in 1972 and serves the communities of Wedmore, Cheddar, Winscombe, Axbridge, Draycott and the rest of the Cheddar Valley.
We support local voluntary organisations, through fund raising, actively support all those less fortunate than ourselves through community service projects, support youth projects and have social events.
We meet on 2nd Thursday of each month at 7.30pm at Winscombe Social Club, Sandford Road, Winscombe.
We are now a well established unit and we can offer a wide range of activities to young people between the ages of 12 and 18. However, we hope to open a junior section in the near future which will accept young people from the age of 10.
