Starting on Thursday 18th May, traditional hatha yoga classes held weekly from 3 – 4.15 pm, cost £8 per class, taught by Julia Wheatley – a British Wheel of Yoga trained teacher who has been teaching since 1989.
These will be mixed ability classes, suitable for beginner and intermediate level students. Julia has experience of teaching yoga to prisoners on a drug rehabilitation programme, visually impaired people, and to school students at risk of exclusion. As well as being a member of the British Wheel of Yoga she is also a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS).
A typical yoga class will begin with a short relaxation incorporating a breathing practice, followed by warm up exercises, a variety of postures (asanas), and a final relaxation. Meditation and Mindfulness techniques may also be included.
Please bring a mat +/or blanket, and wear loose, comfortable clothing.
