DETAILS OF GARDENS and Locations
===

Treddfela, Grants Lane

Situated above the road and accessed by steps with views of Wedmore and the Mendips, terraced with shrubs, veg and flowers, front and back.

Cotswold, Guildhall Lane

Lush foliage, secluded seating areas and the babbling brook are the main features of this garden.

Fenmead, Guildhall Lane

Cottage style planting in a small back garden aiming for colour and interest all year round.

Shelton, Guildhall Lane

A hidden garden by the brook, on various levels and screened by trees.

Court Barn, Sand Road

Large garden with lots of interest with veg, fruit, flowers, and trees around every corner.  Pond and gravel garden.

Applewood, Dandos Lane

Newly planted over the past 2 years with shrubs, trees and perennials for easy maintenance.

15 Saxon Way

Redesigned from scratch 2 years ago but the plantaholic owners have filled it with trees, shrubs and flowers creating a controlled “overblown” informality.

The Close, West End

A truly secret garden revealed surprises, including a pond, once honeysuckle, blackberries and ivy were cleared.  Still undergoing changes but the pollinator lawn remains.

Woodbine Cottage, Billings Hill

Medium sized front and back well established cottage garden with veggie patch, mixed herbaceous borders, lawns and a “whimsical feature…!  On a gentle slope so some steps, which can be avoided.

Cairns Cottage, Church Street

Walled garden with mature trees, raised beds, flowers and a courtyard.

21 Combe Batch Rise

Enclosed green areas, encapsulating an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity.  Pond, shrubs and climbers.

24 Cross Farm Green

Newly landscaped over the last 2 years with sunny patio, shady arbour and 2 small flights of steps. Wildlife hedge looking down onto a pond. Clematis and other perennials.

26 Longfield Drive

Landscaped and planted in Spring last year behind a new bungalow. Upper and lower garden with lawn, patio, fruit trees and perennials for interest all year to create a tranquil feel.

====================================================

The Hidden Gardens of Wedmore will be open on 24th and 25th June from 10.30 – 5 pm and tickets are £10, children are free.  The gardens can be visited in any order and tickets, including a map, are available at St Mary’s church in the centre of the village and at each garden.  Coffees, lunches and cream teas are available at the church and in two gardens.  Two village car parks, one at each end of the village are free as are toilets in The Borough.

====================================================

About a dozen gardens in Wedmore will be opening their gardens for all to see and admire.  They are normally hidden from view so please take this wonderful opportunity to visit and admire them.   They vary in size and delight.  Some have been landscaped on the new developments and some are older and well established.

There will also be coffees, lunches and cream teas available in some of the gardens and at the church, which will benefit from the money raised.  The gardeners are working hard to welcome their visitors so put the date in your diary and be sure not to miss this special weekend.
