A prominent rich history dating back to the Anglo-Saxon period and King Alfred the Great, when the village was bequeathed to his son Edward the Elder in Alfred’s will, Wedmore offers dramatic views of the lush surrounding landscape of the Mendips, near Cheddar and between the River Axe and River Brue.
