Important News from the Wedmore Parish Council – June 2023

Parish Council Business
Hi Friends!
I hope you are well. Another month has flown past and here we are in June. I must start by saying how wonderful it is, so many of you are taking such brilliant care of your bushes! Thank you, it really does make life so much easier when we can use the pavements safely and effectively.

Also, a little reminder if your property has the brook running through or around it. Just have a little check there too, I would hate to have to whinge about it in next month’s edition 🙂
Thank you to all who attended the Parish Assembly, I hope there will be a few more of you next year.

How wonderful it was to celebrate the members of the public who were put forward for the Henry Butt Award, and once again the Parish Council wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to you all for your continued dedication to the community. It was brilliant to have received more nominations as well this year, so we would also like to thank those of you who took the time to make the nominations.

There have been some wonderful community events taking place over the last month, and the councillors and I have been out and about talking to you all, our friends and neighbours. There have even been murmurings that some of you have started thinking about joining us.

We’ve had a bit of a shake up with the way the Parish Council conducts itself and it’s hoped that this will debunk the idea that the Parish Councillors are a bunch of old cronies.

If you have time, why not come to one of the meetings? Members of the public are welcome to attend all of the meetings, and the agendas are posted about a week in advance, both around the village and on the website. You don’t have to say anything, or, if you would like to, that’s brilliant too.

There is a slot at the beginning of the meeting that invites all of you with something to say to share it. What I’m trying to get at is, if you don’t speak up, if you don’t tell us, if you don’t share your thoughts and ideas, we won’t know!

Have a think about it; there must be something you would like to share.
See you soon
