New Recycling Processes Coming to Sedgemoor

Get ready to Recycle More – New Recycling 2022 Briefing Document – click here

Dear colleagues,

Following our email last month and the meeting of the Somerset Waste Board today, we can confirm our intention to introduce Recycle More to Sedgemoor and West Somerset at the end of February/start of March 2022.

Subject: [OFFICIAL] – Somerset Waste Partnership, Recycle More update)

As community leaders you can play a key role in Recycle More’s success by championing the change, raising awareness and signposting people to information and support.

Please find attached two briefing packs (the same as those first sent to you on 25 November):

This includes a sample newsletter and social media content in the “Toolkit” section. Also attached are several images referred to in the toolkit that you may find useful.

  • A Recycle More ‘Bite-sized Briefing Pack’ – four sides of A4 covering the key points.

Before Christmas, you will receive the first Recycle More Messenger, the regular stakeholder updates issued in the build-up to the launch of the service reminding you of key information and milestones.

This will include dates of Facebook Q&As that you may wish to help publicise and attend yourselves.

In the New Year, you will receive an invitation to “test drive” one of the Bright Blue Bags in advance of them being distributed to residents. This will give you the chance to get to grip with them so that you can better respond to any questions from your communities.

Bringing Recycle More to Sedgemoor and West Somerset is the final stage in a county-wide roll-out. The service launched in Mendip in October 2020, South Somerset in June 2021, and in Taunton Deane at the beginning of November.

Thank you for your time. We look forward to working with you in the coming weeks and beyond.
