Wedmore Mini @rts FESTIVAL – We’re Back!

Good things come to those who wait!

Originally booked for May 2020, postponed until May 2021 and then shifted to September 2021: it has been a long wait!  But we are now quietly confident that the annual Wedmore Arts Festival will return to the village on Friday 24 September 2021.

  • The Festival will open, fittingly, with a lunchtime organ concert by Liam Davies in the heart of the village (St Mary’s Church) on Friday lunchtime
  • followed on Friday evening by the much-anticipated one-woman play ‘Where is Mrs Christie?’ starring Liz Grand (photo)?
  • Saturday is a family day
    • With a children’s film show in the morning (film to be decided),
    • A poetry workshop run by Tara Arkle,
    • A puppetry Mad Hatter’s Tea Party with Amy Lloyd-Jones
    • followed in the evening by the Dave Hankin Big Band ‘In Full Swing’ at St Mary’s Church
  • And on Sunday
    • local photographer Tony Chau will share his photographic skills on a walking workshop of Wedmore.
    • The micro-fest will conclude with ‘Talking Books‘ – a discussion between local authors on where they find their inspiration.

The September micro-fest is a smaller affair than the traditional week-long festival. This was a deliberate decision while uncertainties lingered but we are confident that, with the patronage of the brand-new Festival Patrons and supported by our exclusive Friends of Wedmore Arts Festival scheme, combined with the enthusiasm and backing received from local business and residents, the Festival will return to full strength in time for May 2022: so get the dates in the diary now! 7 – 14 May 2022.

And find out how you can offer your support by becoming a Friend of the Festival. Membership taken out now will offer benefits across both festivals – September 2021 and May 2022.

Details are on our website – www.wedmoreartsfestival.co.uk – or leave a message on the Festival line 01934 807229 and a member of the Festival organising team will get back to you.

The Box Office will open in the Summer – but we’ll let you know when tickets are available.
