Important November Newsletter – Now Out

“The Railway Children” is our major production of 2018, on November 29th and 30th, and December 1st in Wedmore Village Hall.
Since the hero of our show will be a gigantic steam train in an Edwardian railway station, we decided to research this ‘character’ fully before designing the production. So cast and production team piled into the Wedmore Community Bus (kindly driven by Roger Fielder), followed by a cavalcade of cars, and went to the East Somerset Railway at Cranmore for a morning of fun and photos. We also shot the video trailer that we will be using in all our publicity – see below.

The volunteer staff at East Somerset Railway could not have been more helpful. They are rightly proud of their restored station, locomotives and carriages, and took obvious pleasure in showing them off to us. There’s something about steam trains that seems to bring out the best in people…
