Our Businesses – Organisations – Wedmore Real Ale Festival

14 July

Thank you to everyone who has enquired about our Summer Holiday Club. It is with sadness; we confirm that for the first time since 2004 Summer Holiday Club will not be open 😢
With the current rules and restrictions in place due to COVID 19, the logistics of being able to open and provide the children with the fun and relaxed environment they are used to would have been very difficult.

We know that lots of you are experiencing Childcare difficulties and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by us not being able to help you.

We sincerely hope that it will be business as usual with Breakfast and After School Club in September. If all looks good we will email booking forms to everyone that had a booking before lockdown, during August. If you haven’t used us before and would like to book for September please e-mail wedmoreafterschoolclub@hotmail.com

Please watch this space for September updates as and when we know them…

We miss our children and would love to see what they get up to during the summer!!
Please feel free to upload pictures of their Summer adventures here. We will be sharing photos from previous Summer Holidays throughout August.

We hope this message finds everyone well and we wish you a fabulous Summer with NO homeschooling!!

With all best wishes
Sharon, Laura, Rachael and out of school Club team 😀

Wedmore Street Fair
29 mins

It is with a heavy heart that we have had to finally concede it won’t be possible to run any kind of community street fair event this year.

As you know, the Street Fair was planned for 4th July, we had tried to keep our options open, keeping our eye closely on developments and guidelines to see if we could at least hold some kind of street party style event.

However, it seems clear that social distancing rules are here to stay, at least for the foreseeable. Our paramount concern is the safety of our visitors, our volunteers and of course, the wider village community.

We instead look forward to seeing you all in 2021. Stay safe and well everyone.

It is with heavy hearts and after much deliberation, we have taken the decision to postpone our 20th Anniversary Real Ale Festival.

With the safety and well-being of our beloved community at the forefront of our minds, we felt that delaying the festival was the only sensible course of action. Of course, we are sad to postpone, but now we have even more time to ensure that our 20th really is the biggest and best when it does eventually happen in September 2021!

Having said that, we have not been resting on our laurels! Our fab committee has been working on a new idea which we will hope to be able to tell you more about very soon. For now, we’ll just say, that once the restrictions are eased, we will hope to hold some form of event that will welcome the whole community and that there will be lots of great, local ales and the opportunity for us all to raise a glass together!

Save the date – Wedmore Real Ale 20th Festival will be held on 10th – 12th September 2021.

As ever, we thank you for your continued support.

Pale Blue CLOSES

Image may contain: text that says "Very sad today.. ..to announce the permanent closure of our Wedmore Shop"

After many weeks of angst I have made the decision to permanently close my little shop at wedmore…. The current Covid pandemic…. has inadvertently given (me and many others I’m sure) a rare opportunity to stop.. draw breath and evaluate…. and for me this has meant the decision to go back to only having one Pale Blue …..so closing Wedmore Pale Blue ….but keeping open my original Clevedon Pale Blue….
Our 4 years in Wedmore has been amazing….it has been a privilege to be part of such a diverse and thriving retail community…. and the village itself is like a huge family…. I have been incredibly lucky to have been supported by dedicated and local loyal staff ….and of course all of you fabulous customers who kept us going….. I know many of you will miss your regular Pale Blue Wedmore fix…..But all is not lost….as you will still be able to buy our lovely things from our Facebook page ….(and possibly a website going forward)…Pale Blue Clevedon is only 40 mins away or 2 junctions up the motorway….. would love to see you all in Clevedon….
On a personal level I feel the time is right to slow down a bit….. I will be 60 in a few weeks and hopefully just one shop will be half the work and half the worry..
PS obviously any outstanding Wedmore credit notes, gift vouchers etc will all be honoured…
So for now ….take care and stay safe..Jane xx

Hair Barn Update – (1 May)

No photo description available.

A little update from us at the salon, firstly we hope you are all keeping safe and well! We are missing salon life lots and our catch-ups! So far we still do not know when salons will be allowed to open back up but we will be getting in contact when we know with all clients who have missed their appointments and are going to try and keep other appointments that are in after we are allowed back open! We are going to try our very best to cover those greys back up quickly and I think all trims will be out the window and just full-on cuts will be needed 🙊😊 unless you have started to like your hair longer….👀! Anyway if you have any questions please message or feel free to ring the salon phone as it is diverted to my mobile so I have been and am only on the other end of the phone (albeit with too little people playing/shouting in the background!)
Keep well everyone!xxx

Busy week so far; spring maintenance is well underway! 🌷🌿
Deep root aeration to break up soil compaction, followed by tining and top dressing to promote healthier plant growth.
We have also started cleaning ponds and drainage ditches.
