After a sell out concert in held during their last tour 2016, children from Project Zulu will be putting on another performance in Shipham village hall on Saturday 26th May.
Project Zulu is an educational development project run by the University of the West of England (UWE) which promotes lifelong learning opportunities in Madadeni, a very deprived township in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
The touring choir this year has been made up from children from the Umcebowolwazi Primary and Siyawela Primary schools. Rehearsals began over a year ago, allowing the youngsters to perfect a new range of Zulu songs and dances selected specifically for this year’s events.
In addition to the concert in Shipham, the choir will be also be touring across England and Wales performing in several concert venues, at music festivals as well as busking in shopping malls in several of the regions cities.
As for all of the previous Project Zulu choir tours, every penny raised by the youngsters whilst they are on tour will be used to help further develop the facilities at the children’s schools.
Tickets for the event in Shipham are free (but must be pre booked).
