For everyone new to the area, we organise and run an annual ale festival in September, where we hope to educate you on real ale, give you a great, local event to enjoy and simultaneously raise money for local worthy causes.
Last year’s record-breaking £20,500 brings the total amount of money we have raised for local worthy causes over the festival’s 21-year history to a whopping £246,820. This would not have been possible without our sponsors and friends at the festival, so a huge thank you again for their ongoing support.
We are moving back to the third weekend of September for this year’s festival, so please note the dates will be Friday 15th – Sunday 17th September in the glorious and highly popular Glebe Field site on Manor Lane, Wedmore, BS28 4EQ.
This year, we will again be looking to have over 100 barrels of ale and cider, for you to try, as well as a selection of craft beers and a gin bar.
Food will also be provided throughout the festival and we will confirm this year’s selection nearer to the festival.
We can confirm that this year’s live, headline music will be Microlight, who will be performing on Friday evening and The Brightside Killers (a brilliant Killers tribute band), who will be performing on Saturday evening. There will be live and local musical acts performing from 1.30 pm on Saturday afternoon and there will also be a silent disco for the younger guests from (1.30 pm – 3 pm).
Finally, the festival would not be complete without Olly’s Enhanced Entertainment disco and he will be banging out the beats on both evenings.
This year’s fancy dress theme is Bingo numbers, so start thinking which of the number calls, would make a great fancy dress costume, otherwise, I could end up being ‘on its own No 1’.
Our sponsor packs have already gone out to our existing sponsors and many thanks to all of you who have already completed your packs and paid your sponsorships. For those that are still outstanding, please can you complete and pay for your sponsorship within the next week or two. If anyone else would be interested in supporting the festival by sponsoring a
barrel or anything else on offer, then Sarah Love would be delighted to hear from you.
Just email sponsors@wedmorerealale.co.uk with your details and Sarah will be in touch.
We will also be appealing for prizes and lots for Sunday afternoon’s raffle and auction. If you have an item/service/promise that you wish to donate, please contact Matt Lloyd at wraf@wedmorerealale.co.uk.
Our raffle and auction is always a great fundraiser, so your contributions will make a real difference to local worthy causes.
If you would like to volunteer during the build, running or takedown of the festival, then please contact Sam Brown at wraf@wedmorerealale.co.uk Helping at such a social event is always popular and really doesn’t feel like work at all.
