Wedmore Street Fair 2020
Important Notice
Given the current situation, we have made the decision to put all plans for the Street Fair this year on hold. Historically, the Street Fair has always taken place on the first Saturday of July, but clearly it looks unlikely that we will be able to go ahead.
Naturally we are very disappointed about this. We know it is an event the community looks forward to; a key event in local small trader’s calendars and a useful fundraiser for many local groups and charities. However, we must follow current advice, and everyone’s health and wellbeing comes first.
Our road closure application is already in place, and we will leave it so, just in case the situation is massively improved by July, and advice on social gatherings has changed. If we can, and if it’s responsible to do so, we will try to organise a community street event for Saturday 4th July. Keep this date in your calendar!
Stall holder booking forms have already gone out to our regulars and will be published in April’s Isle of Wedmore News. At this time, we will not be taking any money for booking fees. We appreciate what a difficult and uncertain time it is for small businesses. Any monies already submitted to us via BACS will be returned asap, and cheques will not be banked. If you wish, you may use the booking form as an ‘expression of interest’ to hold a stall, just in case we are able to pull this together at short notice. Please do not send payment though, if necessary booking fees can be collected nearer the time.
We hope this information is clear. Whilst it looks likely at the current time we will not be having a street fair this year, we want to leave our options open. We will be monitoring the government’s announcements closely over the coming months.
For now, the most important thing is that everyone stays safe, looks out for each other and stays at home.
