FRIDAY 26 JANUARY, 7.30pm WEDMORE VILLAGE HALL
For over 25 years, Wedmore Theatre has teamed up with “Take Art” to bring professional theatre to the Village. This long association continues in January when we are delighted to present “Don’t Go Into The Cellar” (that’s the name of the Company, not the play!) with “The Singular Exploits Of Sherlock Holmes”. The greatest fictional sleuth of all time springs back to life in this stirring adaptation of the Conan Doyle classics.
“This is an elegant and intelligent tour de force”
Acclaimed actor Jonathan Goodwin (who wrote the show) plays not only the legendary detective recounting highlights of his crime-busting career, but also many of the adversaries he has faced, whilst recounting the mysteries he has solved, as well as autobiographical snippets about his life and times.
“The second that Jonathan Goodwin steps onto the stage, he IS the great detective”
“His clear stage presence and charisma keeps the whole audience enthralled”
This high-energy show, featuring a plethora of dashing heroes, villainous rogues and vintage thrills is an affectionate one-man homage to Sherlock Holmes that includes quick costume changes, audience participation and much wry humour. This is a new approach to well-loved material, and frankly the decision to go and see it should be elementary, my dear reader!
“At the heart is a stunning portrayal of Sherlock Holmes”
