Ad Astra Cider is a new craft cider company and Tap House in Stone Allerton, Somerset. We focus on making fantastic single variety and blended ciders made from classic West Country cider apples within our own 12-acre orchard.
We strive to be as ecologically friendly as possible allowing the biodiversity within the orchard to take care of pests naturally and so do not use any pesticides or other harmful chemicals.
The name, Ad Astra is proudly derived from the Royal Air Force Motto ‘Per Ardua Ad Astra’ meaning, ‘Through Adversity to the Stars’. As Ex-RAF aircrew, we chose the name to reflect our background and to honour the history of our amazing cider barn tap house which was used to make wings for Hurricane aircraft in WWII.
Our 100% apple ciders are named after famous RAF aircraft, like Hurricane, Vulcan, Typhoon and Nimrod, and despite only being open for just over one year, our ciders have already won Gold at the British Cider Championships.
