Wedmore Parish Council

Parish Council Business

Hello Friends,
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed the festive period.

While it may have seemed quiet, the Parish Council has been busy behind the scenes, particularly with preparations for the year ahead. A key focus has been finalising the 2025/26 financial year budget, ensuring we can continue providing vital services while addressing rising costs, and planning improvements for our community.
Some key highlights include:
• Maintaining essential services such as waste disposal, public toilets, and playgrounds.
• Supporting community initiatives like grants and emergency management
• Planning for major projects, including enhancements to local amenities and infrastructure, all while carefully managing our reserves to minimise the financial burden on residents.

We understand the pressures everyone is facing, and we’re committed to making thoughtful, responsible decisions to benefit our community.

Warm in Wedmore continues to be a bright spot over the winter months, offering free coffee, soup, and plenty of warmth and connection. It’s been wonderful to see the creativity and care of those hosting these sessions. If you haven’t stopped by yet, I encourage you to do so, it’s a lovely way to spend some time and meet others.

Finally, as we start a new year, it’s the perfect time to think about how you might get involved in our community. Have you considered becoming a Parish Councillor?
We’re always looking for enthusiastic, committed people to join us in shaping the 11 January 2025
future of Wedmore. If you are interested, then please contact me by email or telephone (see below).

Here’s to a positive and productive 2025!
