Wedmore in Focus 26 August 2024

The winners are for each of the categories:

The Wedmore in Focus Photography Competition has ended with a successful exhibition in the Guild Chapel of the Church over the August Bank Holiday weekend, including the presentation of prizes by Hazel Hudson on Monday. We had an excellent local judge, Robin Gray, who chose eight splendid photos, and then there was a popular vote for a favourite out of the rest.

Not all of the winners were available for the prize giving but this photo shows, the judge, Robin Gray, next to Henry Hector and  Charlotte Emmings, who were second in the children’s categories. Just behind them are Caroline Taylor, 2nd in class 4, Norma Logan, 1st in class 4  and Dawn Starkey, 1st in class 2.

At the end is Elaine, representing the Guides,  who were 1st in classes 1 and 3.  Louise Baldwin was 2nd in class 2  and Stuart Inger won the popular vote, number 23, for those who made a choice. The point of the competition was to get us all really looking at and appreciating our village, one of the aims of The Isle of Wedmore Society.

This is a good club to belong to as it takes a very keen interest in the appearance of Wedmore, past, present and future. Do come and join us for interesting talks and company.  Enjoy looking at the 95 pictures and see what can be achieved.
