Community feedback invited on Wedmore housing proposal
Comments are invited from members of the Wedmore community on a draft proposal for 11 bespoke new homes for the over 55s on land north of Holdenhurst in central Wedmore. Specialist developer, Blue Cedar Homes, welcomes feedback on its proposal for the site, which has been prepared following an extensive review of local architectural characteristics.
A Neighbourhood Plan for Wedmore has been under preparation since late 2016. The site adjacent to Holdenhurst was prioritised for housing allocation in November 2017 following a detailed assessment. The site offers a convenient location close to the village centre, making it highly suitable for housing aimed at older residents. Blue Cedar Homes’ proposal outlines that a proportion of the homes will initially be reserved for local residents, and incorporates a package of community benefits including a financial contribution to affordable housing to be used within Wedmore, and approximately £130,000 towards community infrastructure.
